Tarbat,

before I could read any reply to my request how to generate the nice range drawing on heywhatsthat.com I got this here

Is there any info from you there? Is it worth to do the unbelieveable and register under a different name? Or can you provide some hints here?

Thanks a lot
Threemiles

Btw, the website I did dare to promote was this one. And I am not even guilty to stir, just trying ;-)

Before I could answer the question, mods locked the thread Sad   Why does every thread on this forum descend into bickering between posters and Airnav?

Anyway, I've got nothing better to do at the moment than answer the question.

1. Goto http://www.heywhatsthat.com/main-0904.html

2. Select "New Panorama"

3. Either click on the map to set your home location, or use the search box to enter a postcode, for example.

4. Enter the elevation of your antenna, either as an absolute value above sea-level, or a value above ground level.

5. Enter a title for your map

6. Click on the "Submit Request" button, and wait a couple of minutes

Once your map is ready, view the theoretical line-of-site range for TWO altitudes as follows:

1. On the map at the bottom of the page, select "Up in Air"

2. Zoom out to see the range "rings"

3. Select different altitudes using the red and blue boxes below the map

Should give you something like this:

Any questions, just ask.  I'll try to answer in between visiting hours.

Slight exaggeration there Tarbat.

Slight exaggeration there Tarbat.

How did I know you'd pick me up on this Sad    Alright, nearly all threads where Airnav are mentioned.

Thanks, Tarbat, I did the job, no surprising results (no hills around), but an exciting tool.
