Good Day All,

New to virtual radar however need some advice on ACARS.

Presently run SBS 1e and Radar Box.

Which is the best way to use / obtain ACARS?

Thanks

Hi Tony

You can either pick up messages on your scanner or from a server somewhere.  You will need software to decode the messages, either a free solution such as ACARS D - http://www.acarsd.org/ - or paid for, such as that offered by AirNav.

The attached PDF may offer some general background.

There are some good ACARS disciples here and they can help more than I  Embarrassed

Hi

2 options

if you download and install this one via the quick installer

http://www.acarsd.org/RC/

un zip into an empty folder and run the quick installer
click yes to question re connection to SBS1 you can

a] use the programme for acars via your computer soundcard and a scanner

b] with basestation running it will connect to this and show you sbs1 messages in acars format
plus display the flight routes and a picture of the aircraft concerned

if you want to just watch acars then you need this one

http://www.acarsd.org/download.htm

download acarsdclient NG and install
this when opened will connect to a few remaining servers around the world

cheers

hi
i was toying around with acars rc3 and i connected it to my sbs.
my question is how do i connect it to my soundcard instead of sbs as my scanner has a greater range?
how do i connect it back to my sbs
the only answer i came up with was to install 2 copies into 2 folders , one connected to sbs and one not and make 2 shortcuts to my destop, i launch one depending on what i want to do.
any suggestions?
ciao
