Hi,
For a number of years have I used a signal 532 and a signal 535 as base sets and a Win 108 as a portable set when visiting airports.I have always been pleased with their performance.
On the spur of the moment I decided to get a Yupi 7100 on e-bay and compare performance with the signal sets.I downloaded the instructions from the net and thought I would be in business. Not so, probably because of my age and the declining number of brain cells I have left. I have studied the instructions in great detail but cannot seem to follow them correctly. All I want to do is input single airband frequencies to use one at a time.
I wonder if there is someone on the forum with a Yupi 7100 who could kindly help me with an idiot proof step by step set of instructions in how to input a single airband frequency into the set.I can switch it on and get the AM band but that is as far as I get. When trying to input a frequency the decimal point always seems to be in the wrong place.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Mike

Hi Mike,
The Yupi' 7100 is not the easiest of scanners to set up, but if you've got to the AM band try this:
1. Set the step to 5Khz (or whatever you need) by using the STEP button & the up/down buttons, press ENTER when complete. 2. Enter the frequency eg 118.625 & press ENTER. 3. Select a channel number to store this frequency on (eg 801); press 8 0 1 then press FUNC & then press SCAN (which is the memory write button when FUNC is pressed first)
This frequency is now stored as channel 801 & can be recalled at any time by pressing 801 & then the MR (memory recall) button. It is also saved in bank 9 for scanning purposes (channels are saved in the bank number 1 higher than the first digit of the channel; 001 - 099 are bank 1; 101 - 199 are bank 2 etc ! )
Hope this helps,
Ian

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your quick reply. I am sure there is an easy explanation to this but I can't see it. I have got the AM band and set the step to 5khz.I then try to input the 118.625 frequency. The first digit 1 is entered but when I enter the next digit the decimal point appears after the first digit between the two 1s making it impossible to enter the correct frequency. With my Win 108 I can enter 118 before the decimal point appears and then I can complete the desired frequency. It is most frustrating. As I have said I am sure there is a simple explanation but I can't see it.
Any further help would be appreciated.
Mike

Mike,
Is it preventing you from entering the full frequency & displaying 'Error' on screen or are you aborting the procedure when the decimal point appears to be in the wrong positition ?
You should note that when entering the frequency the decimal point will appear on screen like this:
pressing 1 first time - 1 pressing 1 second time - 1.1 pressing 8 - 11.8 pressing decimal point - 118. then 625 will give - 118.625. & then ENT will display - 118.625.0

Eureka--a very big thank-you, Ian.Easy when you know how.I was aborting the procedure when the decimal point was in the wrong position.I had not noticed the decimal point key.
Once again a really big thank-you.I can now go to bed a happy man! I owe you a pint.
Mike.

The supplied instructions with the Yupiteru 7100 have never been their strong point. A more comprehensive and comprehensible document can be found at http://www.strongsignals.net/access/docs/mvt7100_og.txt

Nortonbeak,
Thanks for that. I have downloaded and printed the document out for future reference.

Norton on a completely different subject, I found the manual to the scanner I sent you. Would you like me to send it on to you?

Ermm sorry Norton, got me y-fronts in a twist. It was another manual ironically the Yuppy 7100, for which I still have the scanner and I don't use it anymore.

No problem, I thought I already had the manual. Wasn't sure if there was a more comprehensive one.
