I am running a wireless laptop with BS145 , SBS populate (in auto populate mode), & PP (as a Ground station) 24/7, or at least trying to.
I have learned to turn off BS trails, auto windows updates and power saving options. However, after about 3 days I think I detect that the laptop is starting to slow down a bit. Is there any advice or a checklist for settings and/or husbandary that should be carried to keep the setup running smoothly, minimise the threat of data loss, keep log files manageable and minimise the chances of crashes.
Thanks

Is the laptop connected to the SBS-1 via USB or ethernet?

When you say you "detect that the laptop is starting to slow down" what symptoms do you experience?

Thanks Anmer for replying -- I was beginning to think that I had asked a question that didn't deserve a reply.

The laptop is connected to the SBS via multi-em on the laptop then wirelessly to a livebox router which is then hard ethernet wired to the SBS.

The operation of the PP, BS and Auto populate (on SBS populate) all seem to be working fine in themselves but toggling between the various applications seems to be a bit stodgy/slow (a few seconds say 4 or 5  sometimes particularly SBS populate)  whereas when the applications were first launched it didn't feel that it took that long. Also the launching of Internet explorer when I run the PP network tests seem to take a little (probably only 5 to 10 seconds but it seems an age)longer than when the apps were first started.

Its been about 4 days continued running since I last restarted everything and things seem to be stable at the moment.
I'm not unhappy with the performance but I was concerned (not knowing exactly how these progs work eg if the system did crash how does data (for the log/database files) get backed up(or lost!) &/or do these files get rather (too) large if run for days on end) that perhaps and there should be a bit of a routine such as restart BS daily or weekly stop/restart PP using the "green button" or something similar.

Any tips greatly received.
Thanks Heliboy

I have a similiar setup and find that sometimes the system disconnects if i'm running active display for a few days.

You should also check the Network card properties and disable power management on it.
I had loads of disconnects issues when running over a wireless network and then switched to wired.

I was away all weekend so apologies for the delay.

The Basestation sqb file gets updated in realtime so you won't "lose" any data if the PC or program crashes.

I run Basestation 24x7 and don't have any performance issues, unless I'm running other resource hungry applications.  If your laptop is dedicated to Basestation and associated software, I would have expected it to run OK and not "slow" up?
