That is asking who runs Linux at home rather than an "opinion" poll.
This is gathering ideas and likely demand for new features.
As a member of the Beta Group, maybe you can give us an update Paul? Didn't David Goodman say the new version would be with the Beta Group around the beginning of April? Any sign of it yet?

My opinion is that the decoding of the future system TIS-B signals is one of the most important , because will coverage everything flying machine and all they show up on our radar screens! For me the 20 votes (3.9%) i think is very small , so anyone who not vote yet take a look here first : http://www.avibit.com/Solutions/TIS-B.htm

I don't think so, if you read the first few lines on the site you quote: TIS-B is a service providing current aircraft surveillance information to airborne systems (and usually the pilot). This is a broadcast service from ground stations, sending surveillance information from ground to air. As such, there is no TIS-B data transfer from aircraft to ground and there are no acknowledgements of the receipt of TIS-B messages. No data transfer from aircraft to ground it reads, so UNLESS you happen to live close to a future TIS-B groundstation you won't receive anything, correct me if I'm wrong? Cheers, CT

I think there are plenty of good ideas for a new version of Basestation, including Linux/Java etc. Unfortunately there's no sign of a new version or any announcements since David Goodman spoke at the ML&S Open Day in February. Only 3 months to go to the next one though

Aircraft Labels to Move to Avoid Conflict on Radar Screen currently has the highest number of votes. Since starting the poll I have gotten hold of an AirNav RadarBox which has this feature. Maybe it's the way AirNav has implemented it, but, from a personal point of view, I now prefer the overlap. And I voted for this too! The other man's grass isn't always greener.

Maybe Kinetic could learn how to do it better. I still prefer no label overlap. It's the one reason I use Planeplotter less and less.

I may be doing things wrong but I'd prefer to have an option to turn overlap avoidance On or Off.
As per screenshot, ANRB turns off labels when it can't handle the overlap. In this example I have 66 ADS-B flights listed but only 11 have labels. And even when one drags a label to a preferred quadrant, it moves as soon as it get's into conflict. So if I select a contact without a label and then move the mouse, ANRB selects another aircraft.
Plus, and again I'll admit I may be doing something wrong (despite reading the manual), just moving the mouse over the map highlights aircraft both on the screen and My Flights list. In Basestation I can select an aircraft and the cursor movement doesn't deselect it.
I am now very careful to move the mouse around the map.
As I said, it may be finger trouble on my part.
