Maybe someone in the know can help with this.
As you are all no doubt aware, I'm banned from the Airnav forum, partly because I had the temerity to tell them that their software was "flaky", and their network "problematic" (which it still is, if reports of downtime on their forum are to be believed).
Because of their attitude (and also because I don't need it), I'm not going to resurrect my network access, and won't be paying for their "problematic" network. By NOT resubscribing, I 'd be interested to know if this now renders my routes database permanently out of date? I can understand not being able to "see" (5 minute delayed, and therefore useless) traffic, but it's a bit cheeky to deny an essential part of the system to me as well. Any comments on this? Have I misunderstood?

Only the flights element is unavailable. You should still get access to the routes and photographic databases.

The network subscription only affects the network nothing else. You will still get GAS updates and Route updates and can still get any new versions we make.

Deadcalm: from what I've read on AirNav forum you constantly sent negative posts regarding the system most of them unjustified. I've emailed their support to know the real reason why they banned you. From what they wrote they only banned 3 users in almost 2000 and there has to be a reason for doing that.

Not the action of a confident company is it. BTW they haven't got almost 2,000 members, they have 1,740. But I admit 2,000 does sound better.

Kaitak, ALL of my posts on the Airnav forum were based on truth, were well thought-out, articulate and to the point. I don't know what else you've read, but if it is just my postings on that forum, and you can't see the relevant and valid points I was trying to make, then you are as stupid as they are.
So you E mailed Airnav, did you, and formed your judgement on me from their reply? I notice that you didn't have the decency to E mail ME and ask for MY views. Had you had the opportunity to read some of the E mails that Airnav sent me, and which were both accusatory and verging on the ravings of someone who was completely bonkers, then you may have thought twice about posting this rubbish here. Unless, of course, you have an axe to grind...
I might also point out that at no time did I flout the Airnav forum rules - I took the trouble to read them, and don't remember noticing "negativity" being a specific offence. What I (and other members) did notice, however, was their tendency to break their own forum rules by defaming a competitor's product.
For the record, in the infancy of this forum, you seem to have made a racing start in the flaming stakes. If the moderators don't mind, I certainly don't, but you will make yourself unpopular without a doubt, if you persist.
Oh, and thank you Akzah, for answering the question I posed at the start of this thread.

Akzah was always open, honest and helpful on the SBS-1 Forum, even though he was involved with AirNav and told us so. It might be worth the Mods checking his IP address and comparing it with someone else's

Bear in mind I think we're talking about users with these numbers, the bannings were of forum members, which must be a completely different ball game. How many active, regular forum members are there? Probably less than a hundred, at a conservative estimate. So 3 out of a hundred, then. Not bad in a week. Incidentally, they told me that I was the ONLY member to have been banned! I hang my head in shame. Not.

i got banned asking about the systems being down to often. But then they unbanned me. I think its to do with RadarBox Network Professional, they do want bad publicity. Maybe on this forum we can get the upper hand on this one. after all it our boxes there using to make money.

When my sub runs out I'm not going to re-subscribe. I'm only interested in planes over me! Airnav seems to not listen to problems and take a constructive approach! Just my take on my experience so far.

My sub ran out a few weeks ago, and since then I've run without a network subscription. I still get routes, photos, registrations, weather, etc. without any problems. And I don't miss the network at all - I just use Planeplotter instead.

Do you still send your data to the network?

Do you still send your data to the network? Not if I remember to turn it off!! BUT, I''ve only turned it off because of the legal question over uploading LIVE, real-time ADS/B data, not as any sort of protest against Airnav. And I still provide a 5-minute delayed screenshot at http://www.tarbat.gofreeserve.com/radarbox.htm
