If you're thinking of buying a virtual radar, I can offer a time limited free trial for prospective customers wanting to try out an SBS-1.
One of the SBS-1 added value features is the ethernet connection. This lets remote users connect to an SBS-1 via the Internet and try out the software using live data from my SBS-1.
Prospective SBS-1 customers can freely download and install the Basestation software (14 MB) from the Kinetic website and connect to my SBS-1 to see what is on offer. This service is only being offered to Radarspotters' members and
only on request.
Many thanks for letting me evaluate the software from your feed, I am glad that I did, and I am now 100% sure I made the right decision in picking the SBS-1.
Willhello again and many thanks i could get to like this
i have everything running ok and can see and hear on the scanner whats going on around me
i seem to lose traffic going to stansted at 4500 ft ish that would be because of the distance from your home to here i guess
hopefully when i make the leap i make the right choice the old woman folded her eyebrows when i told her how much it would cost but i should be able to get her on side lol.
thanks again and speak to you soon.
gordonMany thanks for allowing me access to your data. It has been a very useful exercise. I was able to compare Basestation with the ANRB demo (latest beta version). I found that to be a bit flaky at times. I'm not sure whether that was due to it being a beta version, demo version or something else.
Anyway, I was unsure which way to jump until I downloaded SBS resources. That really demonstrates how much customisation can be achieved and I don't believe the same flexibility is available to ANRB.
So the upshot is that today I have purchased an SBS-1eR (though I really don't need another airband radio!) and can now concentrate on digging into the corners of just one system.
The most obvious and immediate (and expected) issue concerns the antenna, which is drastically limiting peformance. So yet another trip up onto the roof is required. Do you have any recommendation before I make a purchase? I wonder what you are using at home?
Thanks again for your generous help.
Alan I am in no way connected to Kinetic, ML&S or any SBS-1 dealers and the trial is only for the benefit of Radarspotters' members, with no liability accepted.
Please do not try this without prior permission as you will not be able to connect.
If you want to use this service, please send me a Private Message beforehand together with your IP address (for my firewall). Full instructions are in the
Downloads section. It is very easy to setup and use.

http://i30.tinypic.com/2zxpohz.jpgUnfortunately it's not technically possible to offer a similar live feed option for the AirNav RadarBox. However, one can download the RadarBox
software from the AirNav website (101 MB) and run in demo mode, using previously saved data.
